Jene Vickrey
Jene was first elected to represent the 6th District in 1993 and was elected Assistant Majority Leader of the Republican Caucus in the fall of 2006. In his role as Assistant Majority Leader, Jene will have the opportunity to better serve his constituents as well as help other Republicans better serve their districts.
Assistant Majority Leader
The role of Assistant Majority Leader includes assisting the House Leadership team in keeping the caucus informed on the legislative agenda, develop an enhance caucus relations and filling in for the majority leader in his absence.
The District
The 6th District of Kansas comprises most of Miami County including the cities of Paola, Fontana and Louisburg. The city of Louisburg is home to the famous Louisburg Cider Mill , known for the most delicious apple cider, cinnamon sticks and cider spices. Paola is a charming city ripe with historic architecture and is a short drive south of Kansas City. Paola is the county seat of Miami County.
