Challenge of Election Results Withdrawn

Statement from Kansas Speaker of the House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld regarding John Dennis Kriegshauser’s decision to withdraw his challenge of the November election results of House District 16th.
“I commend John Dennis Kriegshauser for stepping aside in his challenge and for abiding by the committee’s preliminary recommendation. Both he and Rep. Gene Rardin are to be applauded for the way they conducted themselves during this process. I know it was a difficult time but all sides including Committee Chairman Mike O’Neal and Vice Chairman Tom Sawyer allowed our state’s electoral process to protect the rights of District 16 voters and the integrity of the Kansas Legislature. “
Mr. Kriegshauser delivered his withdrawal letter to the Speaker’s office this morning.
The Select Committee on Contested Elections is expected to make its final recommendation tomorrow.
