SPEAKER PLEASED WITH AG’S DECISION TO FILE CHARGES AGAINST ABORTION DOCTOR
Statement from Kansas Speaker of the House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld regarding Attorney General Paul Morrison’s decision to pursue charges against Dr. George Tiller.
“This has been a very poignant issue for many Kansans including myself who believe the life of every unborn child is precious and deserving of being born.
I thank Attorney General Paul Morrison for his careful review of the case against Dr. George Tiller and determining the appropriate charges to file. I pledge to work with him in the coming legislative session on possible changes to abortion law in Kansas and on other public safety issues.
As a long-time pro-life legislator, I am pleased the state law we passed is being enforced.
I also look forward to working with my fellow legislators to address the issue of why late-term abortions are performed and if there are any legislative remedies we can approve to reduce and stop the need for late-term abortions in our state.”
