REP. FUND NAMED TO INTERIM COMMITTEE

Topeka – Kansas Speaker of the House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld announced today he has named Rep. Rocky Fund (R-Hoyt) to the 2007 Financial Institutions and Insurance Interim Committee.

“Rep. Fund served his constituents and the State of Kansas well during his first legislative session and I am confident he will continue to do so as a member of this interim committee,” Speaker Neufeld said.  “This appointment also will serve as a great opportunity to broaden his legislative knowledge on issues important to him and those he serves.”

The nine-member committee will meet six times between now and the 2008 Legislative Session to study:

  • Regulation of Credit Unions
  • Health Care Tax Credits and Benefits

Rep. Fund said he is thrilled to be named to this interim committee.

“One of my legislative goals has been to learn more about the health care issues facing our state because it is of particular concern to my constituents,” said Rep. Fund.  “So I am especially pleased we will be reviewing options to help Kansans get the health care coverage they need.  I believe all Kansans should be involved in their health care decisions and have choices when it comes to meeting their families’ needs.”

Rep. Fund represents the 50th District which includes all of Jackson County and Soldier Township in Shawnee County.  During the regular session, he serves on the House Energy and Utilities; General Government Budget; and Agriculture and Natural Resources Committees.
