REP. GEORGE TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION


Dodge City - Kansas House of Representatives Rep. Pat George (R-Dodge City) announced today he is running for reelection for the 119th District. 

“It has been my privilege to serve all Kansans of the 119th District these last two terms,” said Rep. George.  “We have made progress on the issues facing our community but there is still much to do.  It is my hope 119th District voters will once again give me the honor of representing them so we can continue to make our community and state a better place to live, work and raise a family.”

Rep. George serves on the House Appropriations, Transportation and Social Services Budget Committees as well as on the Legislative Joint Committee on Kansas Security. 

As Chairman of the Legislative Select Committee on State Employee Pay Plan, Rep. George lead his fellow legislators in finding solutions to address the inequities in the current pay system for the state’s 41,000 employees. 

Rep. George also has become a national leader in substance abuse treatment and prevention.  He serves on several national committees, including NCSL’s Health Committee and the Substance Abuse AdvisoryCommittee.  He also is a member of the Blueprint for States Commission as well as Vice-Chairman of Board of Directors for the Valley Hope Association, a treatment facility headquartered in Kansas.

Speaker of the House Melvin Neufeld (R-Ingalls) commended Rep. George for the leadership he has provided the legislature and for the work he has done on behalf of his constituents and the State of Kansas.

“Rep. George has worked hard to make sure the people of his district are well-represented, that the issues they face are addressed by the Kansas Legislature, and that good public policy is passed in Topeka,” said Speaker Neufeld.

The 119th District includes the Cities of Spearville and Dodge City in Ford County.
