Rep. King Appointed to Health Task Force
TOPEKA - Representative Jeff King (R-Independence) was recently appointed to the newly created Health Task Force. Majority Leader Ray Merrick (R-Stilwell) formed the task force and charged it with working to help Kansans better take care of their health.
“I am confident that Representative King’s experience and fresh ideas will be valuable to the task force as they seek to immediately address the problems we face with health care today,” said Majority Leader Merrick.
The task force will focus on problems facing Medicaid, commercial insurance, and the uninsured. Hearings will begin next week at the statehouse.
“Health care is a vital issue for Kansas, especially in rural areas of the state," said Representative King. "I look forward to working with the Majority Leader and my colleagues on the task force to address this serious issue and promote access to quality care for all Kansans.”
King serves the citizens of Elk, eastern Chautauqua, and northern Montgomery counties in the Kansas House. He has also sits on the House Taxation, Transportation and Government Efficiency committees.
