REP. PATTON KEEPS CAMPAIGN PROMISE

Topeka – Kansas House Representative Joe Patton (R-Topeka) fulfilled a campaign promise today with a vote for tax relief for Kansas Seniors.

“I voted in support of House Bill 2264 to eliminate state income tax on social security benefits and provide property tax relief through expansion of the Homestead Refund Act,” said Rep. Patton.  “When I went door to door last fall, one of the top concerns expressed by my constituents was the tax burden on our seniors. Our seniors have been experiencing a financial squeeze and this will provide important relief.”

Rep. Patton said he will work to see the Kansas Senate also approves this important legislation.
