REP. PATTON: SECOND MEETING ABOUT
STATE’S SENTENCING GUIDELINES SCHEDULED
Topeka – Kansas Representative Joe Patton (R-Topeka) announced today he has scheduled the second of a series of meetings to discuss reforming the state’s sentencing guidelines. It will be on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 519-South in the Capitol. Invitations have been sent to a variety of persons who might be interested in reform.
Rep. Patton is hosting these meetings concerning sentencing guidelines as part of Safe Streets of Topeka/Shawnee County’s project to make Topeka the “Safest Capital City” of more than 100,000 populations. Those on the coalition have been divided into committees to study a variety of issues, mostly focusing on prevention. Rep. Patton serves on the coalition’s Government Committee.
