QUIGLEY TAKES OATH OF OFFICE
Topeka – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh swore Representative- Elect Jill Quigley (R-Lenexa) into office today.
Rep. Quigley joined the Kansas Legislature to complete the term of former Rep. Stephanie Sharp.
“After four or five months of preparing for the 2008 Legislative Session, I am pleased to hit the ground running,” said Rep. Quigley. “I want to thank my family, friends and the many legislators who joined me this morning. It is truly an honor to have their support and confidence in the work I am about to begin for the 17th District.”
Former Rep. Sharp said she believed Rep. Quigley will serve her constituents and the State of Kansas well, especially given Quigley’s involvement in local issues and as a community volunteer.
“Everyone in the 17th District knows Jill,” said Sharp. “She has served as a community leader and a volunteer in so many areas – schools, the church. She really understands what is important to those she represents. I know she will do a great job.”
Rep. Quigley will represent parts of Lenexa and Shawnee, Kansas. She will serve on the House Government Efficiency and Technology; Commerce and Labor; and Health and Human Services Committees.
