REP. SHULTZ NAMED VICE-CHAIR OF INTERIM COMMITTEE
Topeka – Kansas Speaker of the House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld (R-Ingalls) announced today he has appointed Rep. Clark Shultz (R-Lindsborg) as Vice-Chairman of the 2007 Financial Institutions and Insurance Interim Committee.
“Rep. Shultz’s vast knowledge and understanding of financial institutions and insurance issues facing our state as well as his service as Chairman of the House Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee made him the right choice to help lead this interim committee,” Speaker Neufeld said. “I am confident he and his fellow committee members will provide good public policy recommendations for the 2008 Legislative Session.”
The nine-member committee will meet six times between now and the next session to study:
- Regulation of Credit Unions
- Health Care Tax Credits and Benefits
Rep. Shultz represents the 73rd District which includes the cities of Canton, Galva, Lindsborg and McPherson. In addition to being Chairman of the House Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee, he also chairs the House Rules and Journal Committee. He also serves on the House Health and Human Services Committee and the Select Committee on KPERS.
