Rep. Siegfreid Named Chair of Important Committee

 

Topeka –Kansas House Republican Leadership has named Rep. Arlen Siegfried Chairman of the House Committee on Federal and State Affairs.

 

“My experience in working with Chairman Siegfried that he is a thoughtful and deliberate representative who possesses strong leadership skills.  That is why I and the rest of House Leadership choose him to oversee this very important committee,” Speaker of the Kansas House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld explained.

 

The House Committee on Federal and State Affairs consist of 23 members who handle and craft legislation dealing with a wide variety of issues such as amendments to our state’s constitution, gambling and immigration.

 

“I am honored to have this opportunity to chair a committee dedicated to developing sound public policy in a variety of areas,” Chairman Siegfried said.

 

Rep. Siegfried first joined the House of Representatives in 2003 to represent the 15th District.  He also serves on House Committees on Taxation and Government Efficiency and Technology as well as Joint Committees on Administrative Rules and Regulations; Pensions, Investments and Benefits; and State-Tribal Relations.
